Every winter, Heartwood Mills harvests Northern White Cedar using environmentally sensitive harvesting and removal techniques. We also harvest large virgin timbers of Spruce and Pine that often grow in the same forests. Special one-of-a-kind timbers are harvested from areas partially damaged by nature.

After harvesting, the timber is sorted by size and transported to Heartwood Mills. At the Mill, the timber is sawn in a manner that maximizes the yield of each log. Our state of the art kilns then dry each piece prior to milling. Our process insures that our customers receive nature’s finest and most perfectly crafted building materials.

We source our timber sustainably and all of our professional harvesters are environmentally conscious. We also work towards a zero waste policy making every by-product, such as bark mulch and saw dust for example, available to appropriate outlets.

Heartwood Mills combines handcrafting with 21st century technology, efficiently producing a range of exterior and interior wood building products.
